Pacific Fair Shopping Centre in Broadbeach on the Gold Coast is currently undergoing a massive, (and we mean massive!) $670 million dollar renovation!
The redevelopment began in January 2014, and has made steady progress with several wings already unveiled.
The iconic salmon coloured exterior of the Gold Coast building is gradually being replaced with a more modern and luxurious look.
In mid August 2015, the shopping centre’s new South-West wing was unveiled, housing over 40 new stores. This section of the shopping mall now boasts a new format and full line Big W, and youth fashion brands including, Nike, Rebel, Universal, Skate Connection and Vans. There’s also a fresh new Woolworths including an instore café, Sushi and Pizza Bars and a continental deli.
Just outside the Woolworth’s is the ‘Fresh Food Market’ where you can pick up produce or grab a bite to eat at one of the eateries; including, Hakataya Ramen, Chi-Ran Vegetarian Bar and Breadtop and Top Juice.
Pacific Fair haven’t forgotten about the comfort and convenience of families during their renovations, with a great new ‘hinterland themed parents rooms’ located on the Ground Floor and Level 1 of the new south-west mall!
There’s also now more than 1500 new car spaces open, enter from either Sunshine Boulevard at the bottom of the fly-over ramp, or off Melody Street.
Earlier in the year the new and relocated Target opened up, plus Giants Chemist and JB Hi-Fi.
Once complete Pacific Fair will boast a full line David Jones (to complement the current Myer), an additional 120 stores (boosting the number post development to approximately 420 shops), great dining and bar experiences and a world-class indoor and outdoor leisure and entertainment precinct!
The renovations will add approximately 50,000 sqm of retail space to the mall, so that Pacific Fair will boast an impressive 150,000 sqm housing restaurants, cafes, entertainment destinations and around 420 stores all under one roof.
It’s business as usual during renovations, with many stores and food outlets still open for business – especially now that the new South-Wing is open, there’s loads of opportunity for shopping or picking up supplies for your Gold Coast holiday.
If you’ve got young children who loves cranes, bull-dozers, and all things construction – be sure to take them up to the second floor (just along from Zarraffas Coffee, where they can currently watch the renovations in action out of the floor to ceiling windows!
For more information about the renovations please visit the Pacific Fair Shopping Centre website.
