Whale Tail Sunset 2 Small

The Gold Coast Whale Watching season is now well and truly underway!

The season officially started at the beginning of June and runs through until November. The annual migration of the whales, first up North and then back down the coast, turns the waters off the Gold Coast into what is commonly referred to as 'Humpback Highway'.

Whale watchers can try their luck at spotting whales from the beach or headlands along the coast, or for 'guaranteed sightings' join a whale watch tour. During the annual migration you may be able to spot a variety of marine life, including Humpback Whales, whale claves, Killer Whales, dolphins and if you're very lucky; ‘Migaloo’ the well-known white Humpback.

There are regular Gold Coast Whale Watching tours departing from Surfers Paradise, as well as Marina Mirage and Sea World.

Some of the whale watching tours on the Gold Coast include: Sea World Whale Watching, Spirit of Gold Coast Whale Watching and Whales in Paradise. Click on the links provided for more information about each tour company.
