Gold Coast Weather

Weather on the Gold Coast
The Gold Coast is almost as famous for its year-round sunshine as it is for its long, sandy beaches. In case you think 245 days of sun a year sounds too good to be true, take a look at the facts below for a season by season breakdown of weather on the Gold Coast.

Spring
If you’re checking into our Gold Coast self contained apartments in the spring time you can look forward to sunny days leading into pleasantly warm, tropical evenings. Winds tend to pick up in September, making it a great time to enjoy fantastic local watersports such as kite-surfing and kite-boarding. September to November is also one of the best times of the year to visit Mount Tamborine National Park, thanks to the abundance of rare and colourful wildflowers coming into bloom as the weather gets warmer.

Summer
The hottest, and busiest time of year on the Gold Coast. The average summer temperature is between 20-28°C, and these long, hot days often lead to tropical storms. (January is the month of highest rainfall). Cool, refreshing breezes rolling in from the Pacific Ocean offer welcome respite from the humidity, and there’s no better time of year to unwind on the beach, just steps from Carmel By The Sea.

Autumn
Similar to spring in terms of temperature, autumn brings pleasantly warm, sunny days followed by mild nights. The ideal time to check out some of the fantastic family attractions close to Carmel By The Sea self-contained apartments.

Winter
Winter on the Gold Coast is a sunny and dry affair, making the region a yearly retreat for Southern Australians looking to escape the cooler and wetter weather this time of year. June is the start of whale-watching season on the Gold Coast, and the month also marks the beginning of Surfers Paradise Festival, a month long celebration of local arts and culture held close to our Broadbeach holiday accommodation.
